Today’s Date does not conduct criminal background checks on members. Verification and profile-quality controls can help support authenticity, but they are not a substitute for your own judgment or independent due diligence.
Protect yourself online
- Be careful about personal information you share publicly or early in a conversation.
- Never send money or financial information to someone you have not met and independently verified.
- Be cautious when someone repeatedly avoids video, phone, or in-person interaction.
- Report suspicious, threatening, harassing, or unwanted behavior.
Meeting in person
- Meet in a public place for early dates.
- Tell a friend or family member where you are going and who you are meeting.
- Control your own transportation whenever possible.
- Leave if something feels wrong. You do not owe anyone an explanation for protecting yourself.
Reporting harmful or unwanted behavior
Reports may be reviewed for violations of Today’s Date standards and may lead to warnings, account restrictions or termination, preservation of relevant records, and cooperation with law enforcement when required or appropriate.
